Yuna

Well, I am a total music guy. Not saying I am a musician, but I play music and the most important thing, I listen to music all day long. I listen to music when I drive, during my meal, when I woke up in the morning, when I went to sleep, if my bathroom have radio maybe I will listen to music when I use the bathroom or toilet also. I am a big fan of any kind of music. I have to admit that previously, I was a hip hop fan and loyal, I listen to only hip hop music and I look down on other genre of music. Forgive me for being like that but that was my past. Growing up with different type of friends, places and culture make me more versatile. I started to listen to any kind of music today and I am having a lot of fun like this. Just name it, I listen to Eminem, Britney, katty perry, Leona lewis, kitaro, Kenny G, enya, bjork, Statik, bunkface, siti nurhaliza, VE, laila’s lounge, peter pan, letto, and so on. I never put myself in a position where I need to discriminate a genre of music. For me, music is a gift from God. Even some says that music is not encourage in islam or even ‘haram’, but for me it is not like that.

Forgive me when I says that one of my Ustaz said a long time ago that instead of listening to music, you should listen to Qoran recitation, which I found is correct but to blunt to put it that way. I have no intention to discuss on my theory and opinion too far in this entry.

The point that I want to highlight here is about this arising small star here in Malaysia name Yuna. I listen to her song a few weeks ago from a friend (did Yuna have a youtube video before because I’m kind of seen her before in youtube). I was attracted to her style of song which I found a little bit resembles… I am not sure but I am sure she resembles someon’s style of music and her voices is like Dido.

I saw her in you tube, a video showing her EP launching and I was a little surprise that this girl wears Tudung and hold a guitar and sing. I am damn sure that if I am a music producer, I would take her as my artist and produce her album and become fame in an instant.
When we saw girls wearing Tudung (jilbab) here in Malaysia, the first thing you would think is they are shy, quiet and hidden. However, they are not actually like that, a lot of them are as competent as others but, I am not afraid to say that most of them are not. In term of academic, yes, but socially, they are bound to tradition and culture.

Yuna is a symbol (for me) showing that everyone did a mistake regarding muslimah. I think she have a great marketing potential with that image. Looking to previous artist which wear Tudung, Waheeda, Beena, Heliza, a few only that I can remember, all of them bring this image with more showing to restriction and formality but Yuna bring a more casual personality centering the simplicity and reflect young teenager instead of an adult. This image would make her grow big in music industry I presumed.

I have listen to her music and I would give my support on this young girl to move on and reach that meteoric rise in this industry. If she maintain her simple image like this, she would become one of the most recognize celebrity here in Malaysia.

Finally, I would just say, wish her the best luck in her choices and I hope more people like this would appear. Lets bring some variety in our music industry.

p/s: I am thinking since a long time ago, why every fashion designer in creating Muslim fashions always create something so formal. When asked, they would say that female Muslim cloth is suitable to go to some dinner party, some event and everything but no one seems to think on how a muslimah should look like when going to shop, watch movie, or hang out with friends. I think someone need to think about it. Almost all teenagers would like to avoid wearing a muslimah style of fashion because of their complicated way of design. Simplicity is better in my opinion.

Do they look at all the young muslim girls, they always wear t-shirt, tudung and jeans. With that, they can go everywhere. Why don’t we create a simple design like this and implement it all over then we could get more people interested towards it.

Lucy Knight

I am watching the old show of ER. So far, this is the most real show of real life in medicine (well said! ). I am not a big fan of ER, but this episode really attract me. Why? Because the show I am watching right now is a show regarding a new 3rd year student entering the practical year for the very first time.

Well, in this episode, it show how medical doctor giving the medical student a tour around the Emergency Room and then assign them to a house officer or intern, thenthe student have the chance to clerk a patient order by the intern and also all the other doctors keep asking the student to follow them. It was a real warm condition to study, like that.

Once, the intern ask the student to set an IV line and the student was really blur and later ask a nurse to teach her. The student name is Lucy Knight. Looking at her in the TV make me feel like I am watching myself during my first day in the hospital ( but I am a boy instead).

I did not know how many time I have told this story about our first time in the hospital. I think I have written about it in this blog archives. Still I want to tell everyone about it.
It was totally not the same as shown in ER drama I am watching now in the TV!

As Lucy Knight is introduced to all the doctor around the hospital by a doctor assign to do that work, we all have to introduced ourselves to everyone in the ward during our first day. No one seems to bother about us that day.

As lucy Knight is having a talk with a nurse or even a nurse still aware of her existence, we all were invisible during our first day. No one even a nurse care about us. We walk into the ward, meet the Sister in charge, then she asked us to do whatever we want.

As Lucy Knight was blurred on what to do, we were same. During first day, we did not know what to do. I guess everyone does not know what to do during the first day of everything.
As doctor keep asking Lucy Knight to follow them see their patient, we were told to stay away and even give up medicine and go home during our first week in hospital.

As Lucy Knight were told to clerk a patient, we all had to clerk a patient on our own without someone told us to, we were more proactive then.

As Lucy Knight have a chance to give her opinion to the doctor, we were all invisible as I said before.

The point is, watching at Lucy Knight, I was wondering on who will I be today. I could be a very competent student. A very good future doctor. Our experience will shape us a little bit make us a little more stronger in the future. But in term of study, I think Lucy Knight study much more than us.

I really want to have a good teacher to teach me as shown in that ER show. I guess that does not exist. But I really think it do because that show was created by Micheal Crichton. He is a medical doctor and a writer. He must be reflecting himself in that show.

In conclusion, I think Malaysian doctor does not really have that kind of warmness and enthusiasm to teach. Even though, this only reflect to one or two doctors. I am really thankful to so many doctor who are willing to teach us during their working time. I think, in 10, there must be 8 people who are willing to teach and 2 does not. But I will remember more on the two, the negativity inside me is piling up.

Thank you. Hehe.

p/s: I remember there is one doctor named, Dr.Hasnida… or something. She has a long hair and is local. I don’t know where she is now. She must be a medical officer already. She teach me a lot, and I love her attitude like a senior, a sister, a friend or something like that.

And I also remember Dr.Siti, she is so kind when I’m doing my surgical posting. She loved to ask us to give up medicine, but she still kind.

So many other doctor to mention like Dr.faruq, dr. Lawrence, dr. ryna, dr.flora, all doctor from UNIMAS especially because all of them was so kind to us. I don’t know how to thank them. All of them must be on their way to become a specialist or something. Wish them good luck.

To the doctor that is so ego and rude…. Ahaha… north worth mentioning, I will try to keep a step up from them later, I will. Thanks for inspiring. Haha.

Streamyx?

1. well, i'm still using dial up connection here in my home. people would say we are old timer, change to streamyx la, don't live in stone age....

do people realize what is wrong with streamyx so called malaysia's no.1 broadband provider?

All right, we already subscribe for streamyx.. but where is it? Called them and they said we are on the waiting list.... until when? Don't know.

Then i look up in the internet and ask some of my friend using tmnet streamyx. their comment? Dissapointing..

I've try celcom broadband, it is quite sucks also. Sometimes got connection, sometimes cannot. Fluctuation. but at least they don't have to be in waiting list.

I am still thinking whether to use streamyx or celcom broadband.

Since the last

1. I'm getting a little slower in producing good writing today. I don't know why i like to write in numbers today. Almost every blog entries of mine have this kind of numbered sentences. I should go back to the past writing skills of mine.

2. I was pretty busy doing my best in last week ENT exams. I'm a little disappointed in Nose Examination station. I did not practice much in examining the nose i guess. And also, my previous ENT doctor who left us told to us that we can use otoscope to examine the nose. But during exam, there is otoscope but the other doctor guarding the station said that we must not use the otoscope, only to use when there is no other light sources. I'm very lousy at that station. The other station was quite ok. There is one station where the otoscope is running out of batteries and i had to rush and ask the staff to change it for me, and i pretty sure i wasted 3 minutes out of 10 minutes in that station. Did anyone really understand what i'm talking here? Haha. I hope there is. I'm sure there is.

3. I went to the museum last week friday. It's kind of not so interesting journey since it was raining heavily and me and my girlfriend was so wet inside the rain. Wrong timing. Anyhoo, i would not forget that day.

In the museum, i was so fascinated to read about history. I guess i like history so much that is why i love Dan Brown writings, i'm reading History of Islam, and also i like going to historical place like museum. There i read so much about Sabah history. Then, something come into my mind. My grandfather was a Ketua Anak Negeri in labuan once around 1978. But then, the history of him was missing and no where to be found. The remaining is only history that is past orally from generation to generation. I'm the third. I try to search in the internet but i couldn't found anything. So i am thinking now, how do i search for it? I have picture of him, or not, and i'm planning to put it in the museum. he is one of the great and well known people in labuan. His name is Pangeran Salleh bin Pangeran Hashim. I really don't want the story of him faded in time.
If anyone know how to revive his history, well, tell me please.

4. When i was doing my paediatric posting a few months ago, i took some picture from my hospital's surau and i forgot where i put it. Today i found it and I'm sharing it with everyone. It was a very beautiful picture showing Northen part of Kota Kinabalu (Sepanggar area). This place is growing so fast and they said it will be the next city of KK instead of the old KK today where most of the places contaminated by immigrants. I guess Sepanggar also will be contaminated soon.

This picture showing KingFisher and also UMS. Very far away there. can see or not? Just near the hill. hahaha. Got 1 borneo there. Everything is beautiful if you were there taking the picture. Should buy a good camera later then.

haha.

Megahkan Bahasa Melayu

Seterusnya saya ingin menceritakan tentang negara India.

I will continue this disccussion later in more proper way.
